On 29 January, Rev. Dr Wessa Anba Beshoy visits the ICPAL restoration laboratories

On 29 January at 1 p.m., ICPAL Director Dr Aurora Raniolo and General Director of Archives Prof. Antonio Tarasco will welcome Rev. Dr Wessa Anba Beshoy, a Coptic monk appointed by the head of the Coptic Church of Egypt, Pope Tawadros II, to set up a laboratory for the restoration and conservation of ancient manuscripts currently scattered throughout the many Coptic monasteries of Egypt, at the monastic complex of Wadi El Natrun, in ancient Scete in Egypt.

The purpose of Reverend Wessa’s visit is to visit the manuscript restoration workshops, and the Ambrosiana Library has organised this visit under a collaboration agreement with the Papal Library.
